Can you trust your sense of touch?
Touch is probably the most reliable of the senses. Everyone may not interpret what they hear or see the same because the words they use to describe them are generally opinion based. Your sense of touch however, requires you to use words like, rough or smooth, which are more objective.
Can you be misled?
Everyone experiences different events. While describing things, people often times put the thing they are describing in comparison to another thing. I may say that my cotton shirt is rough because it is rougher than my silk shirt. Whereas you may say that your cotton shirt is the smoothest thing you have felt because you have not felt my silk shirt. These comparisons can cause people to put unfit descriptions to the things they feel.
What is the world like without our sense perception of touch?
Would the shirt still be smooth without your sense of touch? If we did not have our sense of touch, we would lose a lot of adjectives and it would also make it hard for us to describe some objects. We would still be able to describe things because we also have our other senses but if we didn’t have our sense of touch to begin with, we would have never had to describe the way things feel.
